Transom Trust has just published our Half Year report for the 6 months to 31st March 2021 – another very challenging time during the ongoing impact of COVID on everyone’s lives. That being so, it’s a very encouraging read as it includes updates and anonymised feedback) on how our residents have progressed towards independent living during this time. This is thanks to the commitment of our residents, and also to valuable and wonderful support of the Trust’s volunteers in our Pastoral Support Team and Board of Trustees. Specific highlights include:
- a resident who has secured full-time-work and is now preparing to move to independent housing
- one resident who was interviewed by BBC South East News back in November – about the great volunteering work he does with a local charity to support rough sleepers
- another resident is now budgeting well, has very good relations with family members, and who has been nominated for “Pride of Green Pastures” award (which we hope will help him fulfil his ambition to write his life story).
The report has received praise from our partner, Green Pastures, and it also has been acknowledged by Hastings Borough Council. It also provides good evidence that the Trust is providing the much-needed support required under the Exempt Accommodation regulations. Thank you to everyone connected with Transom Trust – for playing your important part in supporting the charity, and providing homeless people with vital supported housing. You are helping to achieve so much, despite the challenges
